My paintings begin with a simple checkerboard format and end with a color palette intending to grab the viewer’s attention. References for my color palette include illustrated greeting cards, wrapping papers, and fabric design pints on rugs, curtains, and tablecloths from home furnishing catalogs. Combining a geometric square grid with a powerful color palette pushes me artistically and challenges me to be more creative, imaginative, and original.
